Buteyko Breathing Method
Buteyko Breathing Normalization is a specific method of alternative medicine that treats breathing problems and other health challenges by modifying breathing patterns and lifestyle changes. The Buteyko Breathing Normalization Method was founded in Russia following a discovery by a famous physiologist – K. P. Buteyko, MD. The theory behind his 1952 discovery was that excessive air consumption (hyperventilation) causes various breathing difficulties and health problems. Consequently, people who hyperventilate could improve their health by reducing their air consumption.
I am fully trained and received certification as a Breathing Normalization Specialist in the Buteyko Normalization Method by Sasha Yakovleva at the Breathing Center. The certification program included Level 1-4 training as well as student teaching and on-going mentorship.

Breathing Normalization for Optimal Health: Overcoming health challenges such as Asthma, Exercise Induced Asthma, Anxiety, Sleep Apnea and more and improving your health.
Breathing Normalization Training includes eight sessions, 1.5 hours each weekly meetings on Zoom plus daily coaching by email regarding your progress, and to answer your questions. It also includes a “toolkit” that contains DVD’s, instructional texts, books and other items to complete the training. $1,375 local in Vermont. $1,800.00 outside of Vermont.
Private Consultations: $75 per hour. Private consultations work well if you have questions on applying the method, or want more detailed information on the Buteyko Breathing Normalization Method. You may also choose to do breathing exercises during this time. Breathing training sessions are 1.5 hours. The sessions include one hour of education on applying the method to your individual situation and one-half hour of breathing exercises.
One free consultation is offered for those who are contemplating the full Level 1 Training. Here we will discuss your specific health challenges and how applying the method can help you overcome these challenges.

Breathing Normalization Specialists do not give advice regarding medication. They help students to strengthen their breathing, and as a result, they often lose most or all of their primary symptoms. Decisions about medication and dosages are between a student and their physician. However, oftentimes when symptoms are reduced, and standard medical diagnostics show that the asthmatic condition is improving, physicians may recommend a reduction in medication.

“For 15 years, I had tried to diagnose and treat a chronic cough by working with Allergists, Pulmonologists, ENT, Speech Pathologists, Physical Therapists, Naturopaths and Osteopaths.
